Principal, Carbon Inventory Program Manager, WW Sustainability

Responsibilities will include a cross-function collaboration of the central Sustainability, Operations, Facilities, Transportation, Products, and Retail global teams. You will be a central point of contact for a large number of stakeholders globally, and will be responsible for reinforcing and shaping a holistic, innovative vision integrating a “business as usual” mindset across Amazon.

This highly visible role will lead in managing Amazon’s carbon inventory from a technical perspective and will be responsible for continuing to coordinate and communicate coordinating inventory information across the organization.

The position will be responsible for ensuring the on-going process to supply quality data to make strategic business decisions based on the inventory management frameworks adopted.

Key job responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain Amazon’s GHG emissions inventory
  • Lead the annual data collection process to deliver Amazon’s annual footprint
  • Validate data and recording of transactions per the frameworks (ie. GHGP) and regulatory requirements
  • Inform the development of tech tools regarding data collection and footprint calculation
  • Conduct assessments and review methodologies as needed
  • Collaborate with the WW Sustainability Tech and Science teams in expanding tools functionality and knowledge integration
  • Communicate program status to internal stakeholders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or related space
  • 7+ years of experience in the corporate sustainability space
  • 5+ years of corporate greenhouse gas Inventories, and are well versed in ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, etc. and demonstrated experience with boundary setting, data collection and quality, allocation, and modeling uncertainty
  • 5+ years experience and demonstrated proficiency in corporate greenhouse gas emissions accounting and reporting, with multiple approaches, including EEIO and LCA
  • Familiarity with sustainability metrics standards (i.e. GRI) and sustainability rating agencies (CDP, DJSI etc)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with third-party audits and auditors/assurance providers
  • Experience using carbon accounting software
  • Emission factor selection and oversight experience
  • Basic understanding of product life-cycle boundaries and stages and LCA verification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
