Job Summary
We are looking for an independent, passionate, and deeply experienced leader with experience and expertise in developing and implementing compliance and assurance programs in global environments. You will join our global team responsible for enabling customer trust to run their most sensitive workloads on AWS. Our team solves ambiguous and complex, risk and assurance problems for AWS and our customers globally. We understand the regulatory landscape across the markets we operate in. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and driving the strategic initiatives that transform and scale the way we provide assurance to our customers. You will partner with internal teams and strategic customers to design and drive scale of our assurance capabilities in a manner that achieves customer and regulator expectations. You will help analyze and measure the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes to deliver assurance, so we can better understand how to scale our assurance capabilities. You will help inspire, lead, and transform our audit and compliance programs through innovative process engineering across multiple organizations and teams, engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the company. A successful candidate will have deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, audit, and risk management principles. We are looking for an experienced industry professional who understands complex IT and compliance processes, evaluates opportunities for improvement, and is able to drive innovative campaigns across organizations and teams.
You are someone who can prioritize well, communicate early and clearly, and will be able to demonstrate track record of delivering both personally and through your team. You will be a positive influencer across diverse teams, be able to effectively rally support for your initiatives and be able to collaborate with others to drive simple, scalable solutions to meet customer and regulator expectations. Key job responsibilities
You will have an opportunity to work directly with senior leadership within Amazon to improve our ability to demonstrate assurance for regulated customers. You should be a technically experienced and innovative security, compliance, and audit professional who has the ability to understand IT processes, communicate clearly and transparently with customers, and to be able to drive innovative process changes through multiple organizations and teams. In this role, you will be responsible for the following activities:
- Assess and measure AWS’ capabilities to achieve customer and regulatory expectations of security and compliance.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of program activities and recommend improvements to improve delivery at scale.
- Define critical success criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the end to end customer assurance delivery processes, identifying capacity capabilities and delivery bottlenecks.
- Identify deep, actionable insights of our global assurance capabilities to enhance the program, with an emphasis on efficiency and scale.
- Dive deep and distill complex regulatory and customer requirements into simple, actionable initiatives or outcomes.
- Field and address requests for team support in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement mechanisms to address recurring escalation patterns and persistent challenges.
- Simplify and decompose security compliance requirements into clear technical specifications and policies.
- Author business-driving documents to senior leadership that surface key insights and provide recommendations for our go-forward strategy.
- Identify programmatic dependencies and influence relative product and program roadmaps to enhance operational capabilities and scale.
- Liaise between external stakeholders, such as customers and regulators, and internal business functions, such as security and service teams, to identify and implement business requirements.
- Own the planning, organizing, managing, and execution of complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders.
- Lead global operational planning across our global assurance teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors, Masters or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Auditing, Cybersecurity or other related fields.
- 12+ years of experience in program or project management in technical environments.
- 10+ years of experience in either risk management, audit, or compliance in regulated industries or a provider of services to regulated industries.
- Experience in IT program or project management, IT auditing, and/or control framework development and implementation.
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
- Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in technical security design, compliance consulting, or advisory work in support of a highly technical environment.
- Experience working with technical compliance frameworks / programs, such as NIST, ISO, PCI, GDPR.
- Experience working with Financial Services institutions on regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Experience working with third and fourth party risk management programs.
- Experience managing, performing, and/or overseeing IT self-assessments or audits, and the respective gap remediation.
- Experience responding to, and driving action from, regulatory findings.
- Experience building project or solution roadmaps based on functional requirements, identifying and reporting risks.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
