Principal Product Manager, Net Zero Science and Innovation, WW Sustainability

The Net Zero Science and Innovation team focuses on identifying, developing, and de-risking new technologies that will be necessary for Amazon to meet our environmental goals and commitments. We ground all of our work in science and collaborate with internal and external partners to accelerate innovation. We are a team that thinks long-term and seeks to disrupt the status-quo.

This is an exciting new role that will be at the forefront of developing new, innovative decarbonization solutions. To fill this role, we are looking for an experienced Product Manager that can develop and lead important new initiatives that are both internal and external facing.

This role will require a self-starter and someone that can excel in building out and executing on new ideas that have high levels of ambiguity. We are seeking a PM leader with excellent communication and organizational skills that has experience working with and influencing a range of different stakeholders, from deep technical experts to PR teams to senior executives from within and outside of the company.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute a strategy to embed new science-based models into internal decision-making and planning mechanisms
• Independently identify critical customer needs and map them to concise requirements for the development of new scientific models
• Effectively communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders, including speaking at public events
• Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks
• Help foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

– Bachelor’s degree

– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

– Experience with end to end product delivery

– Experience working with and influencing both scientists and public-facing communications teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Master’s degree

– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field

– Experience owning technology products

– Familiarity with sustainability related topics, such as carbon footprint, life cycle assessments, materials flow analyses, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
