Principal Product Manager, Product Portfolio Management & Roadmap

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to develop and maintain the Microsoft 365 product portfolio for Microsoft Sovereign Clouds-that are third-party owned and operated-including roadmap creation and distribution.

The Microsoft 365 Sovereign Clouds Success Team is responsible for driving the expansion of our products into sensitive and regulated markets that were previously unattainable with our public cloud offerings. We’re hiring a Principal Product Manager who will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Microsoft 365 product portfolio (SKUs) for Microsoft Sovereign Clouds that are owned and operated by third parties.

Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

o OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability and experience defining and driving adoption of complex business strategies in a matrix organization.
  • Significant experience driving product, technical and market strategy in strategic markets, especially in Europe.
  • General business and cultural experience with the European marketplace, and language skills in at least one major European language other than English is highly desirable.
  • Ability to bridge market facing teams, business development and partner teams, engineering, finance and internal operations team to get to a joint outcome
  • Project management skills and the ability to get what you need from others while working around their own legitimate priorities.
  • A solid grasp of the Microsoft 365 Modern Work business value proposition and products, including how products and Microsoft Cloud platforms are implemented in customer solutions, in particular in Government, what key customer and partner issues might be and our business plan to address them.
  • Ability to work in a pleasant and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from IC engineers, Senior VPs to support crew as well as customer decision makers and IT leadership.
  • Highly self-organized, with the ability to think strategically about technical design, business needs and opportunities, while always taking a market-centric approach.
  • Organizational agility and presentation skills, as well as good writing skills are important.
  • Qualified candidates should have at least 10 years of related experience, with a degree in Business or equivalent.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.

Product Management IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 – $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 – $282,200 per year.

Responsibilities:
This Principal Product Manager is accountable for determining the strategic approach around our sovereign cloud portfolio of SKUs including but not limited to:

  • business justification, including financial and ROI analysis, for including specific SKUs inside the sovereign boundary
  • engaging business planning regarding pricing structure
  • advising third parties on information and nuances of specific SKU types
  • consider “Voice of the Customer” regarding the sequencing and prioritization of SKU availability
  • determining internal tooling needs to manage SKUs and feature planning
  • partner with appropriate engineering teams to determine detailed implementation of roadmap of the chosen SKUs

You’ll work collaboratively with Microsoft’s partners and relevant governmental agencies, as appropriate, to represent the company’s position.
