Principal Product Manager, Sovereign Training Strategy & Planning

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to create and execute the training strategy and plan for third-party owned and operated Microsoft Sovereign Clouds.

The Microsoft 365 Sovereign Clouds Success Team is responsible for driving the expansion of our products into sensitive and regulated markets that were previously unattainable with our public cloud offerings.

Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

o OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to create training strategies and execute against them.
  • Proven ability managing projects and/or programs that involve multiple internal and external stakeholders, including senior level leaders and decision-makers.
  • Excellent project management and execution skills and the ability to get what you need from others while working around their own legitimate priorities.
  • Exceptional cross-organization coordination and communication skills including ability to build comprehensive and compelling presentation and communication materials that span functions and groups.
  • Compelling interpersonal skills including ability to build trust, influence, and foster relationships with diverse team members; ability to leverage relationships to drive consistency of approach and ensure delivery.
  • A solid grasp of Microsoft business value proposition and products, including how products and Microsoft Cloud platforms are implemented in customer solutions, in particular in Government, what key customer and partner issues might be and our business plan to address them.
  • Ability to work in a pleasant and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from IC engineers, senior VPs to support crew as well as customer decision makers and IT leadership.
  • Excellent organizational agility and presentation skills, as well as good writing skills are important.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to take a customer-centric approach, think strategically about the partner’s needs, while also ensuring it’s the right position for Microsoft.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.

Product Management IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 – $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 – $282,200 per year.

Responsibilities:
The Principal Product Manager in this role will be accountable for creating the training and content strategy for the third-party owned and operated (called NCOEs = National Cloud Ownership Entity) sovereign clouds business model, applicable to both France and Germany Sovereign Clouds. The scope includes defining which roles of NCOE employees will need which training(s), the training tracks/content each role will need, when each role type will need the training, which delivery mechanism is appropriate for the training topic (e.g. live classroom training, shadowing, train-the-trainer, on-demand), determining which trainings are one time only or recurring (e.g. Exec Workshops).

In addition to creating the strategy, timeline, and executing against the milestones, you will be responsible for managing the NCOE partner and their expectations as it pertains to the training strategy. You will create appropriate business rhythms with the partner. You will track and drive all open topics pertaining to training to closure in a timely manner, aligned with the partner.

The role requires close partnership with engineering, field sales and field technical teams responsible for Office 365 and Azure. You’ll work collaboratively with Microsoft’s outside partners to represent the company’s position, where appropriate.
