The Amazon Music Ubiquity Platform team is responsible for Quality, Stability, and Performance across Amazon Music’s range of devices including mobile apps, web experiences, big-screens, wearables, connected speakers, and third-party integrations. Our vision is to deliver a best-in-class, multi-device experience that is highly connected. Customers expect our experiences to always be reliable, fast, and frictionless across this cohesive, cross-client music landscape. We’ve seen repeatedly that performance and stability improvements can drive not only customer satisfaction, but also growth and business impact. Our team is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Technical to own and drive efforts across clients to improve and maintain the highest possible bar for Quality, Stability and Performance. This is an opportunity to lead our strategy to redefine what a best-in-class Music Streaming experience can be across all clients, and to establish Amazon Music as the highest-quality music experience in the world.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Product Manager, Technical on the Amazon Music Ubiquity Platform team, you will partner with stakeholders and contributors (including partners, developers, technical program managers, analysts, and engineers in test) to design and align on roadmap and goals. To do this, you will start by developing a comprehensive understanding of customer expectations and aspirations around quality, stability and performance for a cross-device, connected music streaming service. You will draft documents to describe plans, goals, and solutions including PR FAQs, annual and quarterly plans, feature requirements, resourcing asks, and more. You will analyze data, develop insights, and be the resident expert in understanding the relationship between QS&P and customer satisfaction, engagement, retention, and business impacts. You will develop and enforce SLA strategies to prevent degradation and federate distribution of goal achievement across teams. You will write feature requirements, review technical designs, and work across teams to craft disruptive solutions for complex problems. You will conduct experiments and analyze and report results, strategically developing proof of insights that change and steer downstream investments and strategies/deliverables. You will evangelize and report on QS&P areas in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews.
A day in the life
You join the morning scrum with the latency team, where you stay informed of progress and updates from teams executing on your roadmap, and you chime in to help with prioritization. Before lunch you make progress on a PR FAQ for an exciting new effort as part of annual planning for next year. After lunch you review promising experiment results from a new feature. You share the early results with the team to give an early glimpse of the impact of their work. In a doc review you give feedback to help a colleague. You take the Amazon shuttle home.
