Principal Product Manager- Technical, JWO New Initiatives

We are looking for Principal Product Manager – Technical to drive the vision, strategy, and development of our computer vision and artificial intelligence products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, design, and marketing to define and deliver exceptional products that solve complex problems and exceed customer expectations. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that, frankly, haven’t been solved at scale before – anywhere.

The JWO Technology team at AWS leverages computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning to reinvent physical retail. Today, shoppers in JWO stores enjoy the convenience of no lines, no item by item scanning, and no checkout. Just enter the store with a scan (choice of your credit card, Amazon app, or Amazon One palm biometrics), pick up what you want, and skip the checkout when done. JWO technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart . You can find JWO today at Amazon Fresh grocery stores, Whole Foods Market, Amazon Go convenience stores and a number of stores operated by 3rd party retailer customers using Just Walk Out as a Service (JWOS).

We’re looking for entrepreneurs who are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, can demonstrate a high degree of ownership and want to have fun while they make history and craft industry-changing products. You will need to be comfortable thinking big while quickly experimenting and pivoting as customer needs require. You will collaborate directly with software engineers and Machine Learning scientists on technology in the physical environment and with designers to improve customer experience. Earning trust of highly technical teams and collaborating in a cross-functional team are also key to success in this role. Our team has a deep bench of experienced PMTs who enjoy coaching and mentoring new team members as they join the team and continue to grow in their careers.
