Principal Product Mgr – Supply Chain, Seller Fee Strategy

Within our Consumer business, over 2 million sellers offer selection to Amazon customers around the world through our 3P business. To meet our sellers’ needs, our smart, diverse, customer-obsessed employees are constantly innovating and building on new ideas. Within 3P, Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) offers sellers unprecedented solutions for inbounding, distributing, storing, fulfilling or liquidating, and processing returns of their inventory.

This role will help set economic conditions through fees and incentives across the global supply chain, inclusive of inbounding to and storing within Amazon’s fulfillment network, and fees and incentives to drive inventory health and productivity. The role has impact across the entirety of our fulfillment network across our stores in multiple countries.

The ideal candidate has an interdisciplinary skillset that enables them to think creatively across the seller and Amazon’s economics of inventory management, as well as Amazon’s needs to manage inventory in a healthy and productive way. The candidate will work closely with Operations, Product, Business, Science and Finance teams. Candidate should have operations and / or supply chain experience, be able to think end-to-end across global supply chain. Candidate should have excellent analytical abilities to include experience working with science or economists to assess and measure impact, and build predictive models. Candidate will have strong financial acumen to understand tradeoffs to Amazon’s business. Lastly, candidate should have a strong bias toward data-driven decision making with high impact and most-senior executive level visibility of work.

Key job responsibilities
• Establish and apply economic and analytic frameworks and models to develop fee and incentive structures and magnitudes. Communicate trade-offs to ensure we prioritize the most critical and impactful work.
• Partner with business, scientists, product managers, and finance to identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present executive level business recommendations.
• Manage and execute large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, defining requirements and managing technical execution of changes.
• Reporting of key insights and trends, using statistical or analytic rigor to inform opportunities for extension or expansion.

Seller fee strategy sets underlying economic conditions for our marketplace business globally by allocating value to balance Sellers’ ability to invest in selection and sharp prices with Amazon’s ability to invest in demand and infrastructure, while also aligning incentives so we work together to reduce costs, improve CX, and support strategic growth drivers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

– 10+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience

– Bachelor’s degree

– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

– Experience with end to end product delivery

– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

– Experience as a product manager or owner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience owning technology products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
