The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level / Senior Software Engineer to join the Phantom Works. Team located in Berkley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Boeing’s Phantom Works Software team is looking for an individual that is capable of working in a collaborative team environment helping to implement various features of embedded Health Management software This will include developing software and software tests throughout all phases of the software development life-cycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification). The software engineer will develop software in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software build pipeline using an Agile methodology focused on code quality, security and automation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in use case development of software requirements.
  • Ability to lead activities to develop, document and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for Health Management software.
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex Health Management software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads less experienced software engineers.
  • Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement.
  • Actively participates in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to delivery.
  • Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software build pipeline techniques and software factories such as DevOps & DevSecOps.
  • 5+ (Mid-level) / 9+ (Senior) years’ experience developing and deploying software for embedded systems.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain clearances for Special Access Programs.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance post start
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently but also lead and guide smaller teams of less experienced software engineers.
  • Experience working on an Agile team in a collaborative environment

    • Automated Testing, SAST, and DAST ( Google Test, Cucumber, Coverity, and SonarQube

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience)
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range for Experienced: $122,400.00 – $165,600.00
