The Director of Clinical Innovations is an important cross-functional clinical member on the Clinical Innovations team, collaborating with multiple leaders and teammates in the company to lead and facilitate the development and planning of strategic clinical delivery initiatives that advance the impact, quality and growth of Landmark’s core clinical model. Support the design and implementation planning of new clinical pilots and programs, development of new product offerings and the assessment of the utility of new clinical tools & technologies. Because of the nature of the initiatives, this will entail frequent interaction and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including independent consultants and subject matter experts (SMEs), vendors, and the senior and executive leadership of Landmark Health, Optum and UHC.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of evidence-based solutions for complex clinical problems for the business that require prioritization of multiple factors, strategic thinking, data analysis, research and collaboration across functional teams
  • Uses a stakeholder-driven governance and development approach, whenever possible, in leading assigned initiatives
  • Plans and/or oversees clinical pilots with focus on clinical best practice, enhancement of current model, development of business case, outcomes measurement and supporting operational design and/or expansion
  • Proactively researches new and relevant tools & techniques across the healthcare landscape, evaluates and consults on clinical utility of solutions, vendors with which Landmark may consider contracting
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought partnership in the development of clinical content including but not limited to clinical protocols, policies and training materials

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience within the healthcare industry
  • Experience leading or developing clinical initiatives
  • Comfort and experience with discussion, writing and presenting of clinical vocabulary and content
  • Demonstrated track record of partnering with cross-functional leaders to define and implement clinical strategy
  • Proven analytical and open mindset; structured problem-solving capabilities
  • Proven an inquisitive learner who is facile at researching clinical evidence and guidelines in development and planning work, able to think critically and reconcile conflicting information, can apply evidence that is appropriate for patient population or priority
  • Proven exceptional at developing professional communications for executive leadership (documents and presentations)
  • Solid interpersonal skills, executive presence, and an openness to working collaboratively with others
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a fast-paced, dynamic environment and comfort with ambiguity
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or MPH
  • Clinical training and 2+ years of practice in nursing, social work, behavioral health or related discipline
  • Experience in home-based medical care, primary care/geriatrics, palliative care, and/or value-based care models

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $118,000 to $226,800. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
