Overview
ArcGIS Enterprise is the foundational software system for GIS, powering mapping and visualization, analytics, and data management that runs in over 10,000 customer data centers around the world. Customers can extend ArcGIS Enterprise by writing backend code in Java, .Net, and soon Node.js. The ArcGIS Enterprise Software Development Kit (SDK) provides tools, documentation, and samples that allows customers and business partners to extend ArcGIS Enterprise. SDK Engineers ensure that users are successful extending ArcGIS Enterprise by reviewing API design, educating users through documentation and presentations, and maintaining a high bar for quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement framework components for Node.JS-based extensibility patterns that includes Custom Data Feeds and Koop-framework
- Design and build JS-based SDK components that integrate with ArcGIS Enterprise APIs
- Craft the Node.JS runtime such that it works for majority of extensibility use cases and keep the runtime updated with security and functionality patches
- Understand requirements from application teams for their Node.JS backends and provide an updated NodeJS runtime to accommodate it
- Collaborate with developers and other product engineers on important projects for ArcGIS Enterprise customers
- Support and gather user requirements, evaluate, and plan new features for future releases
Requirements
- 8+ years of JavaScript development experience
- Experience developing with Node.JS and building plugins for the Koop framework
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s in computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or another technical field
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience developing in Java or .Net
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or GIS
- Master’s in computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or another technical field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $135,200.00 – $228,800.00.
