Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will be part of the Robotic Storage Tech team focused on next generation robotic system design, as well as supporting the existing fleet of robotic and automation technology. The Principal TPM will manage the full project lifecycle of innovative programs aimed at improving the efficiency and lowering the cost of Amazon’s next-generation warehouses. This position is responsible for cross-functional program management of a large-scale NPI programs and will serve as the liaison between Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Solutions Design, Analytics, Customer Support, and the Program Office. Key job responsibilities
• Effective and efficient management of cross-functional programs that may have multiple sub-projects
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Support, Deployment and other key stakeholders to define and deliver complex programs
• Drive team consensus on technical decisions and ensure that appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results
• Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
• Create, maintain, and disseminate project information to stakeholders
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 10+ years of technical product or program management experience

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

– 10+ years of experience managing complex technical projects

– Experience with Agile development methodologies (i.e. Scrum, XP, etc)

– Experience with project delivery for large, cross-functional projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience working with the designs of complex automated material handling equipment and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing

– * Experience in building partnerships across different engineering and product organizations

– Possesses excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done

– Experienced in delivering on multi-year product road maps

– Experience in non-technical aspects including idea generation, business analysis, and process optimization

– Experience in driving adoption of program management best practices

– Skilled in mentoring engineers and technical program managers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
