In Finance Automation, we build technology to simplify and automate the processes Amazon uses to manage its financial relationship with customers, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders. We create technology that simplifies the processes that Amazon uses to procure, collect, pay, and operate.
We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to play a significant part in leading multi-year program to deliver technology solution supporting Finance Operations from concept through execution. This TPM will work with multiple product and engineering teams across organizations to define the technical architecture, and with our customers in Finance Operations and beyond to define and orchestrate scope, work streams, timing, milestones, and communication plan. You will be responsible for influencing organization roadmap priorities, system owners, and technical direction. You will represent difficult trade-off decisions and solutions clearly to senior leaders to help them understand decisions and options. You will leverage your technical knowledge to drive technical trade-off decisions. You will need to dive deep with the development team and challenge the design as needed.
Solutions involve the development of new products and services, and leverage existing products and services in new ways. It is rife with ambiguity, and we are looking for a leader who can embrace the challenge of solving complex technical problems that require consistent iteration and schedule refinement. You will facilitate the development of detailed project plans and timelines, ensure technical teams are delivering to the customer requirements, and drive leadership alignment and communication of our progress across teams.
The successful candidate will have strong Technical Program management skills, be highly collaborative, globally minded and have a high level of customer focus. You should be a motivated self-starter that works well with others in a dynamic, ambiguous environment. You should have excellent business, technical, and communication skills to be able to work across countries, dev teams, and with business owners to define and deliver large programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 10+ years of engineering experience
– 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
– 7+ years of technical program management experience
– 5+ years of software development experience
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
