The Pershing UX team is responsible for designing and delivering best-in-class user experiences across a range of digital products and services. The team is dedicated to putting the user at the center of everything it does and works closely with product and engineering teams to create solutions that meet the needs and expectations of clients and stakeholders.
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Lead UI Developer to join our team. This role can be located in Jersey City, NJ or Lake Mary Florida.
This will be a flex/remote work schedule.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Work closely with UX designers, web developers, product managers and develop user interfaces for complex websites and applications
- Convert mockups into cross-browser and federated HTML/CSS/JavaScript components and templates
- Lead and own the implementation of visual styles that support platform branding needs
- Independently perform and lead the maintenance of the enterprise design system including the code, documentation and design guidelines and standards
- Test and document new components developed, participate in code reviews and ship code on a daily basis
- Ensure that the developed/revised product achieves the user’s specified goals by establishing best practices, and standards for UI development
- Monitor trends in UI development and advocate technology standards and best-practices to mature the design and front-end development process
- Mentor and onboard junior members of the team
- Advocate the user experience across the firm and facilitate training for groups outside the UX team
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience required
- Extensive experience with JavaScript, TyeScript, Angular, React, HTML, and CSS
- Solid understanding of Computer Science concepts such as data structures and algorithms
- Strong attention to detail, ability to implement pixel perfect designs
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Active interest in new technology and troubleshooting skills
- High proficiency with Agile methodologies
- Experience integrating products that use different technologies
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $108,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
