As Principal UX Researcher, you’ll lead user research for our seller partners. You will educate teams of UX Design, Product Management, Engineering, Biz Dev and Marketing to better understand customer needs, wants and motivations. You will lead end-to-end user research initiatives, using appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies to help identify and solve wider seller challenges.
Key job responsibilities
• Scaling and shaping the UX research function
• Prioritizing and conducting independent research to understand and advocate for seller customer needs.
• Expertise in conducting end-to-end user research studies; planning, recruitment, execution, analysis and delivery
• Making decisions to evaluate which user research methodology approaches work, and which don’t with an expertise in a wide variety of methodologies
• Advise and educate partner teams and help determine appropriate research methodologies to implement into their own research
• Translating user insights into strategic recommendations to help product partners make informed decisions
• Structure, organize and advocate research and the impact on product design, go-to-market, and future user research with partner teams through written reports and in-person presentations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of success conducting user research in a software development setting
• A portfolio demonstrating previous work experience and deliverables, that illustrate how your research informed decision-making, showcasing deliverables, and your ability to extract actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• The ability to tackle complex, high-level research challenges within an uncharted problem space
• Experience in automotive products with research leading to delightful user experiences
• Experience inventing new research methods when the right method does not exist.
• Experience with behavioral data-collection and analysis skills, (e.g., designing, conducting, and analyzing all types of data.)
• Experience conducting varied user research methodologies (study design, execution, data analysis, and devising customer insights/recommendations) and the proven ability to execute the right method, throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Experience in all aspects of the research process (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting) and ability to prioritize multiple requests successfully.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $269,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
