Probate and Trust Administration Paralegal

A distinguished legal firm specializing in estate planning, probate, and trust law is actively seeking a Probate and Trust Administration Paralegal to join their dynamic team in Salem, OR! In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the coordination and management of the entire trust administration process, ensuring that trust assets are properly distributed, and all legal requirements are meticulously met. The firm seeks a candidate with at least 3 years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, or probate and trust, coupled with an understanding of Oregon’s unique legal landscape.

Pay Range: $50,000 – $75,000 DOE
Responsibilities:

  • Administer trust estates in collaboration with settlement counsel, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
  • Review and assess estate planning documents, including inventorying assets and evaluating financial distribution plans
  • Coordinate and manage trust administration processes from start to finish
  • Distribute trust assets appropriately and complete all necessary accountings and filings
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion
  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients and their professional teams, including CPAs and financial advisors
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple communication channels

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in estate planning, trust administration, or probate and trust
  • Probate and trust administration experience is required
  • Familiarity with Oregon and federal estate tax systems and Oregon Uniform Trust Code
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Cleo and Wealth Counsel for document management
