Job Summary

The lead for Customer Relations to work to resolve extremely complicated or higher profile customer related issues directed from the BPU, Company executives, the media or the Legal Department while maintaining consistency with company policies and objectives.

Job Responsibilities
• Direct and coordinate Company resources and negotiate customer resolutions to extremely complicated or higher profile customer related issues including large financial disputes
• Direct the process of investigating, reviewing records, preparing for testimony and testifying at public and regulatory hearings involving PSE&G
• Testify and negotiate financial settlements for cases filed with the NJ Administrative Law judge.
• Manage the Company’s relationship with the Board of Public Utilities’ directors and staff members
• Act as back-up to the Customer Relations Manager and the Manager-Customer Assessment to manage daily Customer Relations operations including leading during storm coverage – including off hour coverage
• Serve as the PSEG Tariff and NJ Administrative Code consultant for Customer Care and Distribution referrals seeking interpretation of complex tariff code issues
• Manage a small team of junior associates

Job Specific Qualifications

Required
• BS degree and 7+ years relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, 11 years relevant work experience.
• Five years’ demonstrated extensive customer relations experience
• Customer focus
• Problem-solving, dispute- resolution and negotiation skills
• Teamwork, judgment and the ability to function under pressure
• Analytical capabilities
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
• Broad understanding of utility-wide operations and expertise in Customer Care functions, specifically meter-to-cash (collections and billing)
• Working knowledge of Electric and Gas tariffs and NJ Administrative Code
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office products
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record
Desired
• Demonstrated knowledge of Gas, Electric and Customer Operations
• Working knowledge of the Office of Administrative Law processes
• Proficiency in the BPU/I-Sight case-management system
• Advanced degree
• Supervisory experience mentoring junior level associates
