About the Opportunity
The successful candidate will work with an international team of Linux and Windows Administrators to provide daily Linux server support in a large-scale global multi-platform environment.
The Candidate will independently design, test, implement, troubleshoot and maintain infrastructure architectures to include hardware platforms, client applications, server services and Linux operating systems; Provide enterprise level support for hardware and Linux OS related issues; Evaluate, test and make recommendations on new/upgrades to hardware, OS, network and applications and their impact on existing system configurations; Document standards, implementation procedures and troubleshooting processes. Must be available to work 24×7 support rotation, which includes fielding trouble tickets. Must have good communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Provide specialized enterprise level support and management for Linux/Windows Infrastructure, DNS, NIS/IDM, NFS, SAMBA, and Dell server hardware.
- Build/Install, support and maintain physical and virtual servers. Troubleshoot server and hardware issues and escalate as necessary.
- Develop and implement business solutions and/or automation using Shell, Perl, Ansible automation
- Maintain system and security patches are up-to-date or current patches, updates, virus and malware protection for responsible architectures and applications.
- Provide monitoring and planning for growth and capacity.
- Ensure that production systems are backed up and protected.
- Document infrastructure standards and processes, implementation procedures and troubleshooting processes.
- Design, develop, and articulate solutions based on a strategic business or technical requirements.
- Integrate new technologies to solve business requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure engineered solutions are aligned to company standards.
- Participate in a 24×7 support rotation, which includes fielding trouble tickets
- Analyze the current enterprise and make recommendations for capacity planning, performance tuning and design enhancements.
- Participate in the selection of services and products from a variety of vendors.
About you
Educational Requirements
College degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Experience/ Competencies
- 5+ years’ experience with Linux Server Operation Systems
- 2+ years’ experience with VMware or another Hypervisor
- Experience with EMC and/or Netapp Enterprise Storage
- Experience with a large-scale, multi-platform environment (500+ machines in multiples sites)
- Solid understanding of Linux security fundamentals
- Strong understanding of DNS, NIS/IDM, NFS, SAMBA
- Strong leadership skills and influence in one or more projects or disciplinary areas
- Ability to make decisions on non-routine matters within broadly defined policies and procedures
- Strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills
- Able to plan and execute complex projects with capability for complex analysis
- Extremely proficient with two or more IT disciplines
- Experience with project management on IT infrastructure projects
Experience with the following is a plus:
- Amazon Web Services, Azure or other cloud technology
- F5 or another load balancer
- Cloud backup solutions

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $80,900 – $109,000 plus bonus for Colorado residents, $80,900 – $109,000 plus bonus for New York and New Jersey residents, and $105,500 – $142,000 plus bonus for California and Washington residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, location and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, 12 paid holidays.
