About the role
This position is responsible for the daily product line management and profitable global growth for assigned Network Solutions product lines. Provides competitive and market landscape analysis and emerging technology assessment. Also responsible for examining, developing, and recommending new product strategies for assigned product groups. This position provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing new and existing product portfolios inclusive of lifecycle analysis and tactical product management of sustaining product lines
- Responsible for examining, developing, and setting product strategies inclusive of conducting regular review of sales activities by product, market transition and market share
- Champions research and analysis required for new product development process including all applicable project deliverables and requirements
- Takes ownership and manages all elements of the product development process from conception (e.g. writing business cases) to discontinuation to align with the business unit’s strategy
- Leads and directs project teams in the development or sustaining process to execute projects and assignments
- Attends sales meetings and visit customers and end-users as required; conducting product training presentations and research
- Be a source of intelligence concerning product and market specific issues, including the economy, competitors, and business, technology and applications trends via the Internet and appropriate trade publications
- Maintains an ongoing awareness of strategic competitive activities, knows competitors’ products, solutions and positioning well, and is able to efficiently convey Leviton strategic advantages over our competitors.
- Responsible for examining and analyzing product lines’ performance encompassing, but not limited to, profitability, forecasting and inventory levels
- Shall be fully knowledgeable of assigned product group and applications to act in an advisory capacity regarding product information to Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Marketing Communications, Customer Service, sales organization, and technical teams
- Assists in the development of supporting new product launch material with Marketing
- Developing product pricing and positioning strategies
- Act as a product evangelist and be a sought-after industry expert
Qualifications
- Must possess strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate to all levels
- Must be able to work independently and be a self starter
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Must have the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships and work cross-functionally
- Must have the ability to work in a highly confidential work environment
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and operations processes a plus
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field is required
- MBA a plus
- Minimum 3 years Product Management experience
- Previous knowledge or experience of data communication cables, networking, and the LAN market a plus
- Previous knowledge or experience in residential (single family or multi-family) construction a plus
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and operations processes a plus

Pay Range
