Product Manager, Juvenile Books

Description

The Product Manager, Juvenile Books will be responsible for managing juvenile titles for Drug and Grocery channels within Readerlink’s trade business in regard to terms of sale, assortments, distributions, and supporting sales teams responding to customer requests. Provide key support to the Drug & Grocery General Merchandise Manager and VP Juvenile Product Management as needed
What you will be doing:

  • Work with fellow employees on all levels of ReaderLink as well as customers, publishers and licensors to drive business.
  • Prepare and review sales analysis for purchasing decisions.
  • Create and run planogram and data analysis reporting within Blue Yonder software systems.
  • Create and manage title assortments using Blue Yonder software systems (Assortment Optimization) ensuring all company deadlines and standards are met.
  • Coordinate with space planning and shoppers marketing to ensure planogram and seasonal/promotional integrity and accuracy for planograms within areas of responsibility, including correct in store dates, product mix, store lists and prepack set ups.
  • Working with the space planning team, execute planogram changes due to in store date changes, drop-ins, title drops, available inventory, customer requests, or any other scenarios requiring planogram maintenance.
  • Attend publisher product presentations and prepare reports to reference during presentations.
  • Compile and execute a profitable promotional schedule for our customers.
  • Develop product plan based on sales and industry data.
  • Monitor and analyze space productivity to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and provide feedback to key stakeholders in search of analytical-based recommendations and solutions.
  • Solicit promotions, negotiate terms with publishers as needed.
  • Create PPT presentations based on our business, trends and upcoming events/new releases for our publishing partners, internal sales meetings, and retail customers.
  • Help build and maintain long-term relationships with our customers and publishers.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work extra hours to keep projects on schedule.
  • Self-manage, prioritize, multi-task and work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed or requested

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related business subject.
  • Previous buying or selling experience desired.
  • Minimum (2) plus years’ experience in product or category management preferred.
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience in Power BI preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite highly valued, specifically Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and V-look up function.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Blue Yonder software, including Space Planning preferred.
  • High energy level with ability to keep multiple projects on schedule.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft D365, SharePoint and JDA/Blue Yonder Space Planning by Intactix, Assortment Optimization (AO) a plus.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to speak to all levels of the organization and to customers.
  • Ability to create sales analysis reports and product presentations.
  • Must have excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to analyze Excel spreadsheets and sales documents to identify trends and successful product performance.
  • Must be able to maintain an inventory and sales plan, and forecast inventory needs based on current sales trends.
  • The work performed is in a corporate office environment.
  • Travel may be required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Must be able to work independently on tactics and in high-functioning groups on strategic direction.

Salary: $65,000 – $68,000
