The Talent Lab team is a small, creative, and action-oriented team whose purpose is to cultivate a learning culture, and we’re looking for someone like you.

With your intersecting passions and product management skills, you will be accountable to own and elevate the Modern Technology learning catalog, covering topics like Cloud, Dev Ops, Architecture, Generative AI, Engineering Craft, Web 3, and more. This position contributes to Starbucks success by designing and delivering multi-modal learning experiences leveraging live instructor-led training, digital learning platforms, experiential learning, communities of practice and other a-synchronous methods. Talent Lab learning experiences drive strategic transformation, employee engagement, innovation and technology delivery, and are recognized internally and externally for being innovative and impactful.

To be successful, the product manager needs to be skilled in leading complex and ambiguous initiatives while managing cross functional expectations – including but not limited to learning paths, skills development initiatives, and supplier relationship management. They need to have a passion for building the right hybrid learning capabilities for our business to deliver the best experience and business value, while thinking ahead for what skills technologists need. They need to “own their business,” with a relentless focus on outcomes, business value and continuous improvement.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
• Effectively collaborate with senior leaders, managers, and working teams to position and support learning initiatives aligned to Starbucks Technology strategy
• Define strategic roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders to identify learning objectives and outcomes and leads prioritization of work
• Partner with stakeholders to define problem statements, conduct needs assessments, develop learning strategies and design bespoke solutions.
• Hold a relentless focus on customer experience by applying design thinking to develop and maintain connection to learners via research derived personas and continuous feedback
• Develop and maintains budgets and investment forecasts that enable the product development lifecycle, from design to sunset as appropriate
• Partner closely with learning suppliers to capture and prioritize design elements, inspect and adapt curriculum in response to learner feedback and measure impact
• Demonstrate creative problem-solving, calm under pressure, a sense of humor and strong empathy for customers and collaborators, leveraging sound change management practices.
• Develop an understanding of Starbucks Technology development practices, platforms, services and products and can connect dots across diverse team
• Responsible for growing broad awareness and uptake of services through impactful storytelling and data-driven communication
• Collaborate with peers to support high-priority initiatives in service to the larger team objectives when needed
• Stay abreast of L&D and employee engagement trends and leverage knowledge in contributing to product solutions. Recommends and plans innovative products and features.

We’d love to hear from people with:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• 5+ years of experience working on development teams in a global technology environment with a record of successfully delivering complex products or initiatives.
• 4+ years of experience developing and delivering learning programs, products or services to adult learner
• 4+ years of experience building community within an organization or industry group, especially focused on developer experience, agile or DevOps.
• 2+ years of experience applying formal coaching skills (DevOps, Lean, Agile, organizational systems, leadership)
• Competent using MSFT O365 suite, Jira, SharePoint, PowerBI, Miro, etc.
• Skilled at creating polished presentations, communicating and influencing at various organizational altitudes, including executives, managers and individual contributors.
• Hands on experience developing roadmaps, priorities, features, story outlines, writing user stories, refining product backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, changing environment with variety of stakeholders.
• Motivated to apply knowledge of business principles and practices and maintain a commercial mindset, leveraging data to measure impact and drive continuous improvement
• Strong facilitation skills, including designing high impact working sessions, driving an agenda, managing conflict, leading groups through brainstorming and action planning
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
