What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a Product Owner to join our Benefits & Protection Product community. In this role, you’ll collaborate with key business stakeholders and technology partners to drive our business initiatives forward!
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with agile team members from IT and other product owners to successfully implement a variety of technology solutions (mainframe, cloud, data, infrastructure, etc.) for customers and business teams.
- Manage your team’s backlog and engage in priority discussions with your business partners to assure the most critical work is done first.
- Tell the story of the problems that need to be solved and the opportunities that add business value.
- Show confidence in understanding of the product and future strategy.
- Focus on describing value proposition, value stream, and capability outcomes. Work with team to validate how solutions build towards those outcomes and meet customer needs.
- Begin to build strong partnerships with stakeholders and product managers to represent their needs. Garner their support and engage them proactively to overcome barriers for the team(s).
- Assist in making decisions to enable the team to deliver quickly. Be comfortable not having all of the answers. Make small bets and embrace experimentation
- Keep lines of communication open with stakeholders so their needs are represented and they understand what is being delivered along the way.
- Challenge status quo, encourage innovation, be open-minded and approachable. Collaborate well with all partners. Gather feedback from customers on delivered work and share with the team. Begin to demonstrate influence on the product strategy and direction.

Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of business or technical experience with exposure to creatively solving business needs
- Exceptional communication skills including the ability to work with partners at all levels of the company
- Strong strategic thinking, collaboration and decision-making skills
- Demonstrates continuous learning and development mindset
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$51000 – $147600 / year
Additional Information
Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
Job Level
We’ll consider talent at the next levels (Product Owner I/II) with the right experiences and skills.
