Job Overview:
Nielsen is looking for a data visualization and quality-focused Product Owner within the Product organization to support the data analysis and computations that are input to the National TV ratings. Our National TV ratings provide clients with information on who is watching the cable and broadcast networks TV programming and commercials.
As a Product Owner, you will need to gain an in-depth understanding of the calculations and the systems used to create our National TV ratings. You will partner with two main sets of stakeholders – (1) our Technical Application Development teams and (2) our Data Science and Operations teams. You will be responsible for understanding cross-functional team needs, defining requirements, data analysis, data quality, and end-to-end delivery ownership.
What You’ll Do
- You will be responsible for the design and development of compelling data visualizations via a variety of techniques including data storytelling and Spotfire dashboards.
- Build tailored visualizations and dashboards.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert for the National Nielsen One initiative with an in-depth understanding of the existing data; including performing data analysis and validation.
- Be the point person to define quality and assess if the tests planned will meet our quality criteria.
- Be the point person for coordination of audit requests requiring Product and Development team responses for National TV.
- Hold teams accountable for creating and maintaining process and design documentation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in a dynamic business environment.
- Progressive work experience in the field of Business Intelligence, Information Management, consulting, or work in a relevant industry role with a specialty in data visualization.
- Hands-on expertise with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Spotfire, etc.)Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written / oral communication and presentation / interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with modern programming languages is preferred.
- Media, in particular, advertising or research industry experience is a plus.
- Exposure to AWS or Other Cloud Technologies is a plus.
Salary Expectations:

$50,000 – $185,000 a year

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $50,000 – $185,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee’s geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
