Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Product Owner New and Emerging Technology to join our Information Technology team, a member of the IT Innovation and emerging technologies team and part of the Partnerships and Innovation value chain. This role can reside in any U.S. Eaton facility.
This position is responsible for maximizing the value of new and emerging technologies by creating, prioritizing, and managing the innovation technology backlog.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $116250.03 – $170500.04 a year.

What you’ll do:
- This position is responsible for maximizing the value of new and emerging technologies by creating, prioritizing, and managing the innovation technology backlog.
- Act as a technical expert for new and emerging technologies including AI/ML, digital twin, mixed reality, and others. Own the portfolio of new and emerging digital technologies within IT, working them through our IT innovation process, including surveillance, discovery, and experimentation to accelerate the review and adoption of new and emerging tech.
- The Product Owner will set and communicate the product vision, develop and maintain the product roadmap, design, develop, and rapidly advance technology experiments considering feasibility, technical readiness, and opportunity at Eaton. The individual will work closely with business partners and customers to define epics that align with key business objectives for the Scrum or Kanban team and fully document these activities, record findings, and share them within the team and among our stakeholders.
- The Product Owner allocates funds to backlog items and defines work priorities for individuals dedicated to the product team. They will define the full lifecycle of portfolio of work from innovation activities through new features, and continuous improvement
- The Product Owner works directly with analysts, engineers, other product team members, other value chains, other innovation teams, and suppliers to execute the product roadmap, guide the product development lifecycle, define user stories, and provide voice of the customer within product processes.
- Evangelize new and emerging technologies across the Eaton employee base focused on value and applicability to Eaton. Translate technical jargon into understandable learning opportunities and drive culture change toward a digital mindset. Support increased employee engagement across Eaton participating in the design and execution of crowd sourcing and hackathon events.
- Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and epics to meet customer and business needs
- Own the product backlog, managing and prioritizing user stories, decomposing epics into features, and continuous improvement work
- Work closely with business stakeholders and customers, understanding their priorities and defining business outcomes and KPIs for the product in collaboration with those key stakeholders
- Communicate goals for product increments and releases. Define goals for team sprints.
- Define product use cases and acceptance criteria
- Plans and organizes product demos
- Support the onboarding of internal and external resources
- Responsible for product governance including data, policy, cybersecurity and usage
- Act as a functional expert in areas related to the product
- Understand commercial, business and go-to-market strategies where applicable
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 7 years as a program lead or product owner
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of a Eaton U.S. work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years industry experience working at or supporting a global manufacturer
• Demonstrable understanding of product management and modern product delivery processes
• Experience working with Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban software delivery teams
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps principles
• Experience with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.
• Experience with AI/ML
• Hands on experience provisioning, developing, and managing cloud development environments (Azure, GCP, AWS, etc…)
