What you’ll learn & achieve:
As a product owner for UL, you will work directly with our Chemical Data Management Software UL Solutions product and help redesign it from the ground up and bring it into the next generation.
To support the intersection of three main components of the successful Product Strategy:
- Defining and owning the product direction.
- Building and growing a product team.
- Establishing the product organization and processes.
Product Vision and Strategy:
- Work closely with the Product Manager and software engineering, following Agile principles, to help define requirements/user stories, incorporate feature requests, estimate development effort and prioritize/groom backlog items.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager on roadmap management and release planning.
- Work with UI/UX/Designers to generate wireframes and prototypes to support user stories and product demonstrations.
- Participate in sprint planning and work alongside the Scrum Master to ensure that commitments are met and any re-prioritization decisions are fully informed.
- Support the development team throughout the development cycle by elaborating user stories and advising on priorities.
- Organize the end-of-sprint demos to communicate to internal stakeholders the output of each sprint.
- Validate whether features have been completed and decide when they will be released.
- Support the development of the technical product collateral, such as release notes and online help content.
Product Organization and Processes:
- Support an efficient cross-functional matrix structure to enable effective product development lifecycle
- Execute a robust set of processes, focused on product development, release management and product support
- Leverage a standard set of product management and software development tools (Aha!)
- Facilitation skills – ability to lead small to medium groups of internal stakeholders towards desired outcomes in order to meet business objectives
- Strong communication and presentation (PowerPoint) skills
- Product management tools – product design (e.g. Invision, Zeplin), development task management (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps), documentation and knowledge (e.g. Confluence, SharePoint), collaboration (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Slack), roadmap and portfolio management (e.g. Aha!, Daptiv)
- Scrum/Agile training and/or certification is highly preferred

What makes you a great fit:
- University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline
- 2+ years or more of related discipline experience or demonstrated competency
- Previous experience with Chemical Data Management Software
- Working with remote teams is highly preferred
- Project management certification is a plus

Total Rewards: The salary range for this position is $91,000-$100,000 of the salary range and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.
All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. The target for this position is 10% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level.
We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
