Product Owner/Squad Leader, Credit Cards

The Role
Fidelity’s credit card program is part of the Spending and Saving domain, and an integral building block of a financial relationship. Our vision is to expand the role Fidelity can play for our customers in this critical area of their finances, by expanding and enhancing our credit card product offering to better meet current and future customer needs.

As a Credit Cards Squad Leader, you will lead the credit card transformation across a variety of new initiatives, including refreshing our flagship 2% credit card product; designing, building and launching new credit card products; and supporting the acceleration of digital capabilities that drive deeper customer engagement and retention.

You will lead a customer-obsessed team and be responsible for a matrixed, agile organization, and will oversee a squad across multiple COEs. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to complete specific product features. You will ensure alignment on the “what” and “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog.

As part of the Credit Cards Squad Leader role, some key responsibilities will include:

  • Set value proposition for card offerings aligned to target and loyal customers
    • Develop value proposition to modernize our offering, ensuring value for our core clients and emerging segments
    • Continuously evaluate our clients needs and develop appropriate programs as necessary
  • Deliver relevant and fresh offerings
    • Based on value proposition, create new offerings for emerging segments (e.g., youth)
  • Manage key external credit card partnerships
    • Ensure credit partnerships successfully serve our customers
    • Support successful customer and operational transition where any shifts required
    • Own and be responsible for maintaining the relationships with all credit card partners, including setting priorities for joint development work, executing on existing initiatives or building new programs, managing escalations, and monitoring the financial performance of the programs.
  • Design marketing strategy and plan to raise awareness of our offerings among our existing customers and to attract new targeted customers, collaborating with internal marketing groups in the design and execution of the strategy/plan
  • Build analytic capabilities to assess portfolio and support customers through personalization
  • Work with digital teams to build a competitive digital experience for cards that integrates with a broader Fidelity and Spending and Saving functionality

You will be the gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities.

The Expertise You Have

  • Experience at a credit card issuer or co-brand partner preferred
  • 10+ years professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Proven success
    • delivering customer value in a highly complex and fast paced environment
    • leading team directly or indirectly
  • working and building partnerships in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment with collaboration and building strong internal and external business partnerships
  • defining and launching products and services from concept to scale in market using Agile methodology practices/ceremonies processes and tools

The Skills You Bring

  • Adept at synthesizing quantitative data and qualitative feedback, using a data-focused approach to understanding customer needs, translating strategic goals into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered
  • Ability to handle multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities, balancing the needs of S&S and key partners
  • Skilled at influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building successful teams
  • You understand and have the skills for working across various technology platforms
  • Excellent presentation skills as well as solid written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize and articulate complex to simple
  • You grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria
  • You are skilled at running a highly diverse, non-co-located agile team
  • Platform mentality, building for scale and reuse across multiple experiences

The base salary range for this position is $123,000-$207,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
