Your role at Baxter:

The Maintenance Planner for the BioPharma Solutions site in Bloomington, IN, assesses problems, develops solutions and continuous improvement for the site’s facilities and manufacturing operations equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role will both lead and follow projects as well as communicate cross functionally.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan maintenance activities and work with other site departmental teams to organize weekly schedules including planning, preparing, scheduling, and coordinating preventive, predictive, and planned maintenance work performed on site, with the objective of minimizing total maintenance cost and effort by maximizing maintenance work force efficiency and productivity.
  • Review and coordinate maintenance work to be performed, and develop job plans, defines parts and materials, identifies skills needed, and engages the proper resources to develop a safe, effective, and efficient work control plan. Coordinate and manage contractor labor as needed.
  • Ensure Planned Maintenance (PM) tasks and Work Orders (WO) are executed safely and with appropriate quality. Monitor PM due dates to ensure PM tasks are completed timely.
  • Responsible for working with mechanics, electricians, and engineers to lead the development and communication of initial PM job plans.
  • Analyze equipment history to find opportunities and eliminate repetitive issues. Provide input to technical team to solve improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate downtime schedule across all departments to ensure all downtime activities are accomplished efficiently. Works with departmental leaders to build maintenance schedules that are coordinated with the department’s availability.
  • Ensure planned activities have material items prior to execution of task. Ensure work packages include specific details related to the task.
  • Understand and comply with the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

What you’ll bring:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience required
  • Excellent knowledge of computer systems for industrial maintenance planning, such as Maximo.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization and prioritization skills.

Physical / Safety Requirements:

  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.
  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE (including but not limited to, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, etc)
  • Ability to work in tight spaces
  • Ability to gown qualify for grade A/B classified areas

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $60,000 to $132,000 and also includes an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
