Description

Title: Production Operator

Location: Kankakee, IL

Pay: $20/hr + Shift differential

Shift:3rd Shift; 11pm-7:30am

Overview:

Your primary role will be to produce high quality Inks for our customers. There is a variety of opportunities to learn and use different machines and processes, so you are not coming in doing the same thing every day. You will be responsible for learning all of the processes and equipment. Your key role will be to use our PLC driven Human Machine Interface (HMI) equipment to produce high quality ink via batch tickets. The key to your success will be to produce the best quality product, on-time and practicing safety as a top priority.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review the batch tickets – Read, understand and follow
  • Gather and weigh ingredients (Scale operation)
  • Combine ingredients in a designated sequence
  • Provide samples to the Quality Control lab
  • Pack the product into designated containers and label containers
  • Clean equipment and plant and dispose the waste
  • Wash the tubs after each use
  • Operate a sit down/stand-up forklift
  • Operate equipment with an inserting system
  • Responsible for stock rotation and minimizing partial containers
  • Operate and trouble shoot mixing equipment
  • Train other employees
  • Responsible for ingredient traceability
  • Use SAP inventory look-u
  • SAP CORK duties and SAP Cycle count duties
  • Conduct preliminary quality checks
  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times and maintain a clean work area
  • Report near miss incidents and improvement opportunities
  • Participate on plant teams
  • Participate actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs and training sessions
  • ISO – Follow all standard operating procedures with respect to performance of position duties and stays updated on all applicable procedures

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds on a routine basis and stand on feet for long periods of time.

Drug screen and background check are mandatory if you are offered this position.
