The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to Director of Production, incumbent will serve as the primary point of contact for all Theatre Program activity that occurs in the Nash Building. Namely, the incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of Production Resources (PR) – maintaining inventory, coordinating transport of props and costumes, training and supervising student staff, and sourcing materials for Theatre Program production needs. The incumbent will serve as primary resource to troubleshoot technological and facility concerns for students and staff – liaising with other Columbia departments as necessary to maintain a safe and clean learning environment. The Production Resources and Nash Operations Manager will serve as Props Supervisor for all thesis productions and be part of the rotation for overseeing technical rehearsals of said theses.
Responsibilities
Production Resources Management: 60%
Maintain diligent oversight of PR inventory. Remove outdated, overused materials and report needs for new or improved materials to Director of Production in timely fashion. Ensure inventory software (Connect2) is updated and being used to its full potential. Create customer-focused policies with regards to material use to ensure said materials remain in good and safe working order.
Hire, train, and manage staff of 5-7 students in Production Resources. Oversee schedule to ensure coverage. Serve as leader and resource to solve conflicts and problems. Maintain clean and professional workspace.
Work with thesis production teams as Props Supervisor for productions. Lead production meetings as needed.
Nash Facilities Management: 35%
Serve as leader for students, staff, faculty, and other Columbia partners in the maintenance of Theatre Program spaces in coordination with Production staff as well as the Director and Assistant Director of Academic Administration. Oversee team of student staff in the daily cleaning and maintenance of Nash studio space, adjoining lounges, and hallways. Communicate with appropriate Program staff to facilitate repairs and material support in a timely manner. Act as first point of contact for Theatre Program and other Columbia partners for issues pertinent to fifth floor of Nash Building. Manage student use of Nash resources. Design trainings, tours, and other learning opportunities for students and staff to maximize use of Nash studios.

Be present for all Nash events that require program staffing (Program Callbacks, Auditions) determined by the Director of Production.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills required: project and time management, mentoring and modeling a professional attitude in a fast-paced setting, attention to detail, ability to delegate and work on various tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the needs of an academic theatre program preferred.
- Flexible work schedule required, with evening and weekend hours as assigned.
