We are looking to add Production Welders to our team across various shifts! Production Welders are expected to perform all activities required within the Welding department to produce components for customer orders. These tasks include, but are not limited to, TIG welding of sheet metal, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as cutting, punching, and rolling of extruded aluminum bar. Welders are also responsible for all touch up paint work. All work is to be performed safely, efficiently, and within established quality and procedural standards. Welders can expect to be reassigned to other departments frequently as needed, in response to fluctuations in customer demand.
Base Pay Rate: starting at $20.00/hour for Welders – rate goes up depending on experience
**Additionally, 2nd shift and Weekend Shift employees also enjoy shift premiums on top of their base rate.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed and determined by production leadership.
- Read and understand production orders and blueprint drawings.
- TIG weld formed aluminum and stainless steel sheet metal components to production specification and quality requirements.
- Prep, prime, and paint welded parts.
- Operate semi-automated extrusion saw.
- Punching extruded bar.
- Slitting and rolling radius extruded bar.
- Material handling to include forklift movement and unloading truck.
- Accurately manage productivity through our production control system (ERP) as orders are completed.
- Observe plant safety requirements and advise management on safety concerns through near miss and incident reporting.
- Maintain work area to established 6S standard.
- Serve as helper or machine operator on shears, presses, packaging/shipping or any other additional duties as required by management.
- Attend and participate in department and shift meetings including trainings for safety and other workplace training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Welding experience preferred but not required.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills, especially ruler (to 1/64″) and protractor.
- Flexible team player with a solid work ethic and reliability.
- Well developed interpersonal skills to allow effective communication with collogues and leadership.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Resourceful problem-solver who works well independently.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Welding certifications preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
This position requires the individual to actively move around the plant, however primary tasks are done in a standing position for extended periods. Weights of up to 50-lbs have to be manually lifted, pushed, or pulled regularly and repetitively by an individual. Team lifts of 60-100 lbs. regularly, on many job tasks. Work Environment
Duties will involve frequent movement between plant office, loading dock, and the manufacturing floor. The individual will experience moderate factory noise and may occasionally work outdoors during loading processes.?Safety glasses, gloves, and OSHA-compliant safety-toed shoes are required PPE in the plant. Welders are required to wear proper welding PPE inclusive of gloves and welding hoods.
