AT&T’s Visualization and Automation team is looking for an experienced individual to work directly with business analysts across AT&T and other data stewards to locate the needed data to help derive insights around various executive metrics (examples: Financials, Product, Operational, Care, Sales, etc). The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, and innovative problem-solver with strong background in data engineering, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Works directly with key stakeholders, Business clients, and business analysts to define and document data requirements for data integration and business intelligence applications
- Determines and documents data mapping rules for movement of medium to high complexity data between applications
- Adheres to and promotes the use of data administration standards
- Supports data selection, extraction, and cleansing for corporate applications, including data warehouse and data marts
- Creates and sustains processes, tools, and on-going support structures and processes
- Investigates and resolves data issues across platforms and applications, including discrepancies of definition, format and function
- Creates and populates meta-data into repositories
- May create data models, including robust data definitions, which may be entity-relationship-attribute models, star, or dimensional models
- May also create data flow diagrams and process models and integrates models across functional areas and platforms
- Works closely with DBAs to transition logical models to physical implementation
- May be responsible for employing data mining techniques to achieve data synchronization, redundancy elimination, source identification, data reconciliation, and problem root cause analysis
- May also be responsible for quality control and auditing of databases, resolving data problems, and analyzing system changes for quality assurance
Required Skills:
- Candidate will need a solid background in both Python, Databricks, SQL, Airflow, Power Query, and Power-BI (and DAX), with experience operating in AGILE as a plus
- Experience leveraging or building for teams that heavily leverage visualization tools like Tableau and PowerBI a plus
- Experienced in cleansing, extraction, transforming and loading from data environments in Snowflake, Azure, Teradata, and DEEP(Palantir)
- Experience creating and sustaining processes, tools, and on-going applications and push reports for Leadership
- Candidate will be called upon to investigate and resolve data issues across platforms and applications
Business Operations Savvy: Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the candidate will be working closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for downstream analytics. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to evolving technologies will be highly valued as we continually strive for excellence in our data-driven organization.
Education: Preferred Bachelors degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or Sciences; Data Analytics or Business Analyst nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
Experience: Typically 2-3 years work experience, and 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in a engineering or analytical role.
