What You Will Do
The successful applicant will support the organization with high-quality administrative support. This will include performing and providing support for Los Alamos Neutron Science Center Facility Operations (LANSCE-FO) and all deployed staff.
We are seeking a highly motivated. high-performing person who enjoys working with a close-knit, high-energy organization charged with conducting facility operations at TA-53, where LANSCE is the primary activity and facility We are looking for a person with great communication skills. that is highly organized, self-driven and has superb interpersonal skills for interacting with organization members as well as the varied collection of programmatic science and technology organizations conducting work at TA-53.
The position is within the office of the LANSCE Facility Operations Director (FOD) under the Associate laboratory Director Physical Sciences (ALDPS). The LANSCE FOD is ALDPS’s principal agent for operations and is responsible for executing non-programmatic work in TA-53 facilities.
The successful candidate will:
- Serve as the administrative point of contact (POC) for LANSCE FOD organization.
- Manage logs and records for internal documents.
- Provide procurement support for LANSCE-FO and deployed staff.
- Be the primary LANSCE key custodian for TA-53.
- Assist with LANSCE document control, which includes, editing. formatting. and obtaining signatures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Proven experience preparing formal correspondence documents and presentations with considerable responsibility towards content while ensuring accuracy} and attention to detail.
- Experience and skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facility operations.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly with respect to prioritization, planning and follow-through.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work to and deliver on deadlines; but able to adapt to changing requirements.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to manipulate documents in many formats, such as Adobe, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure of multiple deadlines, frequent interruptions. and changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work well as a team player, strong customer and interpersonal skills and a record of dealing effectively with conflict.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex calendars, follow up on calendar requests, and follow proper protocol.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with control lock and key program.
- Experience working with property accountability system.
- Knowledge of document control and records management.
- Knowledge of business systems (Ariba, Oracle, etc)
- Experience with web content management system.
- Advanced knowledge of and/ or experience with purchasing and procurement system.
- Knowledge of facility operation and procedures.
- An active “Q” clearance or ability to obtain a “Q” clearance.
Work Environment
Work Location:The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2– Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position:Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
