Job Description
To perform a variety of routine and clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering phones, receiving the public and providing customer assistance. Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the Recreation Coordinator with paperwork and routine operation of the community events. Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Assists in all aspects of recreation and special event programs.
Facilitates on-site supervision of recreation, recreation facilities, athletic and special event programs.
Serves in various roles during recreation, athletic and special events.
Set up, tear down, and cleanup for recreation, athletic and special event programs and activities on and off site.
Performs routine clerical and administrative work in answering phones, receiving the public, and providing customer assistance.
Acts as an information and referral source in the community, guiding persons to the appropriate person or agency.
Answers in-coming calls and routes callers or provides information as required. Attends various meetings when the Coordinator is unavailable.
Assists Coordinator with implementation and facilitation of programs to include but not limited to farmers market, community events, and YAC programs.
Operates listed office machines as required.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent with course work in general office practices such as typing, and filing, and,
- One (1) year of increasingly responsible related experience or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a Texas Driver’s license within 6 months of hire.
