General Function:
Under the general supervision of the Senior Collaborations Program Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for implementation of economic empowerment services into school and community sites within the Successful Families Initiative service area (David Douglas School District – DDHS, Mill Park Elementary School, Earl Boyles Elementary School, Ron Russell Middle School). Services will be delivered both one on one and in group settings and will be for students and parents. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining partnerships with all staff and agencies involved in the Successful Families Initiative (SF).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide information on services to potential clients, school staff and staff working at the agencies we collaborate with in this initiative (IRCO, Latino Network, SEI and NAYA)
- Maintain a full understanding of programs and services being offered by SF partners across schools, and coordinate referrals to and from other SF partners
- Develop culturally relevant program activities based on feedback from community members, partner agencies and school staff to help individuals and families reach their financial goals
- Coordinate the college and career exploration program and youth internship program at David Douglas High School
- Present financial education workshops and classes for parents and students
- Help clients connect to safe financial products and services
- Coordinate the integration of financial education sessions, coaching and mentoring into services provided in other segments of the SF Initiative
- Provide clients with financial mentoring and education to improve financial behaviors for long term financial health including: financial goal setting, budgeting and spending plan development, in depth credit education, credit repair, and credit building strategies
- Collaborate with community partners and conduct outreach
- Train community partners in Your Money Your Goals curriculum and provide support as they integrate financial capabilities activities into their programs
- Support clients in the IDA program as needed
- Provide supervision to a one AmeriCorps member serving in this program
- Connect clients to other MFS program, tax preparation services or other community services
- Collect program data and assist with program evaluation
- Data entry of participant information into multiple databases
- Perform program intake screenings
- Attend supervision meetings with Senior Collaborations Program Manager
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Collaborations Program Manager

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a BA/BS in related field or equivalent related experience
- Fluency and ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is required
- Fluency in secondary language will be assessed at time of hire
- Financial management and/or financial literacy education experience is preferred
Other Requirements:
Personal transportation allowing for travel within the Portland Metropolitan area in a timely manner. If driving a personal vehicle must maintain a valid driver license for the state of residency, personal auto liability insurance coverage and a driving record permitting coverage under the agency auto liability policy.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment and/or at other locations as deemed necessary. May require occasional early morning, weekend or evening work. Position requires ability to sit for extended periods as well as stand occasionally and may require accessing locations by use of stairs. Position requires use of computer, telephone, fax machine, copier.
