Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Program Management Consultant to join our Planning, Policy and Funding Team. This position will support hazard mitigation and resiliency planning projects throughout the U.S. market with federal, state, or local government clients.

Role accountabilities:

As a Program Management Consultant, you will support clients in pursuing state and federal grant or loan funding for their resiliency and infrastructure projects. You will build client relationships and evaluate clients’ existing project needs against open and anticipated state or federal funding opportunities. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple projects of varying sizes simultaneously, including schedule and budget projections, deliverable tracking, invoice reviews and other components of successful project management.
  • Developing or providing feedback on project management systems and staff processes to continuously improve performance and practices.
  • Leading the development of grant and loan applications, including writing, reviewing, managing the project team and schedule, and coordinating with relevant subject matter experts.
  • Evaluating clients’ existing project needs against open and anticipated state or federal funding opportunities.
  • Researching and developing memos, white papers, or other collateral as necessary to support a wide range of resiliency and mitigation planning tasks, and overall plan development.
  • Supporting proposal development by tracking opportunities, developing winning strategies, identifying client needs, and assisting with proposals and marketing materials.
  • Working closely, building relationships, and providing broad support or training to the Planning, Policy and Funding Team to ensure successful delivery and implementation of large and small projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Economics, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Public Policy or a related field
  • 5 years of project management experience

Key Skills/Attributes:

  • Experience researching, writing, and developing proposals and presentations
  • Experience managing and/or supporting a team, including building their capacity to manage large and small projects
  • Experience in federal grant management, compliance with 2 CFR 200, and resilience/mitigation planning
  • Ability to support multiple priorities and tasks in condensed or changing timeframes
  • Exceptional client management, time management, and organization skills
  • Highly motivated with a desire to pursue continual innovative improvements in processes and active participation in professional organizations
  • Employ a logical approach to problem-solving and a strong ability to think through complex issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Policy, Environmental Resilience, Sustainability, or Design, or a related field
  • PMP certification

The salary range for this position is $82,400 – $142,140.
