SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Program Administrator – Community Engagement work to positively promote the agency. Attend community events and outreach, promoting positive opportunities for the agency clients. Manage the disparity programs, Consumer Advisory Committee, and annual reports such as the Inland Regional Center (IRC) Performance Contract and Purchase of Service Stakeholder input report.
Salary Range:
- $84,418.46 – $113,129.12 annually

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the activities and oversight of the program to include but not limited to the Consumer Advisory Committee, disparity programs and outreach, purchase of service data collection and outreach, Community interaction and outreach and attend events to promote IRC, as necessary.
- Facilitate clear and concise communication through the website, social media platforms and blogs, newsletters, and contacts, while promoting a positive public image.
- Work with the Executive Administration to promote a positive IRC brand, interactions and responses with the press and media.
- Manage the fiscal coordination and spending, in conjunction with Auditing, for all necessary component of the program to include but not being limited to Consumer Advisory Committee, disparity grants and outreach activities.
- Supervise the disparity specialist and all activities to meet disparity needs, to include but not limited to Community Based Organizations, community stakeholders, public reporting and data collection and reporting to the Department.
- Collaborate with stakeholder agencies and communities to include but not limited to the Client’s Rights Office, State Counsel of Developmental Disabilities, Community Based Organizations and all other community partners.
- Supervise the data collection and reporting of the Annual IRC Performance Contract, ensuring all target dates are met throughout the process.
- Meet with individual staff at least twice a month and new staff at least once a week for six months. Hold monthly meetings with program staff.
- Supervise all Community Engagement Unit staff and appropriately assign duties to them. Review and approve travel claims, time cards, etc., ensuring that agency requirements are met.
- Assure that administrative requirements, documentation and services provided by program are of high quality and conform to statute, regulation and agency policy.
- Evaluate, motivate and coach individual staff members as required and when necessary, implement discipline when required up to and including recommending termination of an employee.
- Responsible for arranging for the successful orientation of newly assigned program members and ongoing staff development, as needed.
- Ensure a mentor is available for all new employees and that sponsor attends all required trainings.
- Assure that consumers’ rights and dignity are maintained in the provision of services.
- Maintain a current knowledge base in areas including but not limited to Federal, State and Regional Center legislation, law, regulation and policy, as they apply to the client’s needs and services.
- Perform as a member of the team and agency, sharing expertise, providing positive customer service and contributing to the overall harmony of the agency and the unit.
- Perform different or additional work as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in social work or related field from an accredited school.
- Four (4) years of experience in working with developmental disabilities.
- Experience with Resource & Development or Quality Assurance is highly preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Progressive experience in supervision is highly preferred.
- Ability to handle change well and be flexible and adaptable in dealing with interruptions, new priorities, and new assignments.
- Ability to follow oral and written direction.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Full use of an automobile, possession of a valid driver’s license and liability insurance for the minimum amount prescribed by law or ability to provide for independent transportation. Must have and maintain a safe driving record.
