Ferries & Transportation is seeking a Program Manager for a operation in Brooklyn, NY.

About the Opportunity:
The Program Manager will report to the division Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Ferries & Transportation Division. The Program Manager will initially be focused primarily on supporting programs for the Hornblower Marine Shipyard and program management for Hornblower Wind. The Program Manager will serve as a center node to all program functions to ensure smooth and efficient internal and external operations, will promote strong internal culture and morale, will support value-add program implementation and growth operations, and will ensure that all projects within their purview are delivered on schedule/on budget, all while ensuring optimal customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with division team leads to streamline and standardize processes and procedures to promote optimal efficiency and communications across the division, including but not limited to, activities in construction, vessel operations, facilities management, finance and accounting, legal, compliance, marketing and public affairs.
- Provide boots on the ground program implementation leadership to ensure smooth operational transitions, lead ground-up program development and cultural integration of new teams and teams that require support across the vessel construction and offshore wind programs.
- Manage key priorities of the SVP and drive the operating rhythm and cadence for business flow in collaboration with the SVP/COO’s direct reports to ensure alignment on strategy and goals.
- Create, track and report on KPIs that support and measure success in promoting and executing on the strategy and goals of the division on projects that are cross-functional in nature.
- Support Finance and team leadership in executing pre-approved program and project budgets and streamline variance requests from team leads.
- Organize team meetings, off-sites, and team specific training sessions.
- Identify business, financial and project related risks and a means for mitigation and/or avoidance.
- Develop and implement operating systems to drive alignment and accountability across teams.
- Provide gap management support, filling in for essential functions of the division as needed.
- Support the management of client relationships, promoting overall client satisfaction and promotion/maintenance of a strong company reputation.
- Support business development efforts by assisting in the production and review of RFP responses, identifying new and emerging industry opportunities for engagement/pursuit, and by attending conferences and industry events.
- Assist team leadership and HR in producing job descriptions, vetting resumes, and screening potential candidates to fill open positions, particularly those that need to be filled in an expedited manner.
- Produce reports and presentations for internal and external use.
- Produce and maintain division and project organizational charts to be shared internally and for RFP responses.
- Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the division SVP.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 5+ years progressive/combined professional experience in project/program management, program development and implementation, and/or transportation system development, operations and management.
- 3+ years’ experience working with highly technical teams in design/construction and/or vessel operations preferred.
- 2+ years team management experience, including the management of multiple direct/indirect reports
- Start-up experience is a major plus. Applicants for consideration must be adaptable and capable of supporting several programs and operations currently in start-up mode.
- Proven track record for organizing and managing multiple teams, departments, and contracted employees.
