Insight Global’s client is looking for a Program Manager to sit in either Spokane/Seattle, WA to support a hydropower client in the area. They will be responsible for the business development and project oversight/management for the work that they win. They will be tasked with generating and growing existing clientele in the area while supporting various projects for hydropower plant or natural gas power plant upgrades, modifications, and new builds. 70% of the existing project workload consists of electrical upgrades to the plants, which include upgrades to MCCs, switchgear, control houses, etc. They will be on the project management/business development side of things, so will need experience working with/on electrical upgrades in a similar environment but won’t be tasked with designing the projects. Eventually, they will be tasked with building out a team of engineers and designers to help support the work that they win. In the beginning, the role will consist of 50% sales / business development, 50% project management. Once the clientele is built, then it will shift towards more project execution and people management.
Additional responsibilities include:
– Supporting project selection until project execution
– Updating clients on project schedules, scope, budgets, and overall progress
– Traveling to client sites/projects in/around Spokane, WA (3-day trips/month).
– Establish relationships with potential vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
– Adhering to federal and state safety requirements and design standards.
Required Skills & Experience
* PE license
* B.S. in Engineering — mechanical, civil, or electrical.
* 10+ years of experience working in/around power generation projects (hydropower, nuclear, coal, fossil fuel, etc.)
* PMP or MBA
* 3+ years of management experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Existing ties to pacific northwest power generation clients/processes
* Experience designing electrical upgrades for power generation projects.
