Job Responsibilities
Manages, develops and oversees the operations and activities of investigative teams charged with investigating complaints related to Health and Medical professional licensing boards and commissions in all aspects of investigative, statutory, and regulatory responsibilities, including the receipt and analysis of complaints for these boards the Agency receives.

Reviews pending legislation for impact on investigation teams, providing analysis and information for Agency leadership as to implementation of the legislation. Directs and oversees teams to implement any changes to legislation that occur.

Oversees and directs the complaint intake and analysis process for Health and Medical professional licensing boards and commissions. Reviews and provides guidance on the analysis of complaints received, the determination of the need for an investigation, and identifying priority cases for assignment.

Effectively responds to inquiries and requests for information related to complaints filed, investigations conducted and status of cases received from customers, external stakeholders, the public, or other government agencies. Attends meetings as needed and presents reports and information to assigned boards concerning investigative activities.

Supervises complaint analyst(s), administrative staff, and lead investigators that manage investigative teams. Oversees, assesses, and promotes the training needs for supervisors and staff, managing the recruitment and retention efforts to support the quality and continuity of customer service to the public.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience. A combination of education, relevant training, and experience may be considered in substitution for the bachelor’s degree, upon approval by Human Resources.

Position works in the office with extended periods of sitting. May require work outside of normal Agency business hours and weekends. Occasional local, statewide, and overnight travel.

Preferred Requirements: experience managing investigations and substantive knowledge of health care laws and regulations.
