The position:
Program Manager II manages medium complexity programs for production, retro (Hardware and Software), and SW-only programs, as well as participates improvement initiatives. Acting as “pilot in command”, exemplifying leadership, clear concise communications (external and internal), schedule management, scope management and process improvement to keep the team and customers/OEMs/MROs appropriately on track and/or informed. PMs shall be pro-active and devotees of the 5Ps (Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance), knowing that the bulk of the program shall be managed via QOPs and Phase Gate checklists. Able to synthesize answers based in inferences from pre-existing data. Exercising circumspection, tact and forbearance when required.

  • Directing and monitoring internal elements (functional departments), risks, issues and required actions to deliver program scope, as well as controlling scope through clear, concise, and timely communications to internal teams including through up-to-date program plans and appropriate Change Request (CR) items added to the Program Table.
  • Orchestrate and organize meetings with agendas, objectives, meeting minutes and action items.
  • Drafting CR Statements of Work.
  • Orchestrate and ensure excellent communications from working peer-to-peer level and at program level, as required, laying-out appropriate lines of communication.
  • Schedule management – both to show the plan going forward and keep the schedules up-to-date and correct.
  • Driving and orchestrating Customer Requirements Reviews and following up to ensure requirements are codified, customer review solicited, and requirements documents published.
  • Attending seat PDRs, CDRs, and FAIs or DDRs as Airbus has renamed them, and (retrofit) ship-side PDRs, CDRs, and retrofits.
  • Utilize Phase Gate checklists to ensure critical items are correctly completed.
  • Utilize QOPs to ensure items are correctly completed, such as Tech Data, Customer Commitment Letters, etc.
  • Cataloging Risks, Issue, and Action Items per procedure, as well as driving and monitoring them to drive to closure.
  • Chairing internal and external meetings weekly or as required.
  • Evolving the Component Parts List and Program Parts Lists as required.
  • Excellent communications to include – keeping internal and external elements informed, as well as ensuring receipt band acknowledgement when necessary and/or required.
  • Process improvement due to obsolescence or new requirements to make procedures clear and concise, using the KISS principle.
  • Ordering program parts from CPL and PPL to support Material Required On Dock Dates.
  • Participate in program reviews as directed.
  • Report on specific developments as requested.
  • Problem solving to overcome obstacles.
  • May be called upon to provide training.

The salary wage range of $94,000 – $158,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

What we’re looking for:

  • BS Highly Desired or equivalent 5-7 year work experience in engineering, software/product development, development or project management of which 2-3 years minimum in a leadership position.
  • 3 – 4 Years of practical work experience in the aircraft industry is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations, analyze and interpret customer requirements, plan and monitor effectively, and function as a champion for customer satisfaction while managing program performance to meet the needs of the company.
  • Proficient in the use of MS office suite of software applications. (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VISIO, Project).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple programs and issues.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work through issues without escalation. Ability to thoroughly articulate his/her position(s) concerning problems and/or solutions on his/her own accord with minimum assistance from upper management.
  • Ability to prioritize daily workload in support of program needs.
  • Practiced team building and leadership skills.
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills combined with the ability to effectively interact with customers and a diverse range of internal organizations.
  • Ability to work well with people under pressure including people from diverse cultural and political backgrounds.
  • Outgoing, self motivated, well organized and detailed oriented.
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to resolve conflicts and filter conflicting agendas to determine best path forward a resolution.
  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of variable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Ability for up to 10-30% travel domestic and internationally required.
