Program Manager III, Comixology

Open to locations in Charleston, S.C., New York City, N.Y, or Seattle, W.A.

The Comixology team is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for driving projects and owning key mechanisms across the Amazon Books organization that directly impact the comics publisher and customer experience. Working alongside the Business Leader, the Senior Program Manager plays a key role in collaborating with other teams in the Books organization to advocate for and support comics-related initiatives.

The candidate will have a proven track record of complex project and program delivery, from conception and design through implementation, measurement, closure, handover, and monitoring. The candidate is able to manage multiple, cross-functional competing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and agility are encouraged. The ideal candidate sees around corners, is adept at eliminating complexity, is biased for action in ensuring the project/program is set up for success in achieving our goals, has experience making the right tradeoffs, and earns trust through broad stakeholder influence.

Key job responsibilities
• Ability to work across varied programs (marketing, content ingestion, subscription management, etc.)
• Define use cases and processes for new or changing products, tools, policies or business launches
• Drive projects for their entire lifecycle from planning through post-launch measurement
• Own reporting of critical operations-related metrics to business stakeholders
• Liaise with other Amazon teams to ensure relevant areas are engaged in time to develop deliverables within their area to support project deliverables. Support partner teams to refine processes and increase efficiency in line with program objectives.
• Make appropriate tradeoffs to simplify processes while protecting the customer experience.
• Build effective relationships with multiple internal and external, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex, global projects
• Communication both verbally and written across all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive)
• Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of program or project management experience

– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Goal driven and target orientated whilst able to step back and look at the bigger picture.

– Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail (manage ambiguity; be prepared to get involved).

– Demonstrated experience and success at leading cross functional programs and proven ability to influence and lead without direct management authority.

– Ability to identify risks and innovate, then drive resolution quickly.

– Experience defining and improving SOPs and customer-facing blurbs in a business environment

– Ability to communicate expectations and requirements equally well with business, technology and customer service teams

– Experience in process improvement using Lean and Kaizen methods.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
