MS conducts its business through three principal business segments-Institutional Securities (ISG), Wealth Management (WM), and Investment Management (IM).

The U.S. Banks (the Banks) represent an important strategic asset for the Firm with opportunities to drive earnings and business growth across WM and ISG by offering lending solutions, cash management, and deposit products to deepen client relationships.

The U.S Banks Strategy team’s primary mission is to partner across the organization to evaluate, design, and lead the execution of Bank’s key initiatives and growth plans. We also manage important Bank governance activities by coordinating the development of the annual Strategy & Business Plan; conduct competitor analysis, benchmarking, and reporting to Bank leadership; support project execution through the Program Management Office (PMO) team; and administration through our Business Management function.

We are seeking a high quality Program Manager to be a key partner in the development and execution of the U.S. Banks strategy to expand its cash management, deposits and lending services to serve the retail banking, private banking and commercial banking needs of WM clients.

Position Responsibilities:

The U.S Banks Program Management Office (PMO) manages cross-divisional, cross-product, and firm-wide initiatives on behalf of the U.S. Banks, partnering with senior management to analyze and assess current strategic capital investment strategies. The role is multi-faceted, offering the opportunity to lead, take ownership for, and contribute to, the success of projects through the entire life cycle.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Bank’s groups as well as other stakeholders that support the U.S. Banks. The role will support the lead PMO responsible for business / operational risk and requires the candidate to have an understanding of and take a leadership role in project management fundamentals, process analysis/design, and system implementation methodologies and best practices. The candidate must also be able to analyze and articulate feedback on the commercial impact of business and functional/support group decisions.

Program/Project Management
• Work with business partners, functional/support group partners and stakeholders to create initial project/resource plans and governance for identified initiative
• Work with business partners, functional/support group partners and stakeholders on creation of key milestones and timeline
• Work with stakeholders to prioritize work and drive milestones to timely execution
• Track and report status on multiple cross-divisional projects/programs across divisions, functions and workstream
• Raise issues, risks and concerns timely and appropriately to stakeholder
• Document and track change control milestones and tasks for multiple projects and program
• Manage budget process by coordinating with business partners and functional/support group partner
• Host governance forums including Sr. Executive governance forums, drive discussions and decisions, and assist in action item tracking, project plans, milestones and meeting documentation

Relationship Management
• Develop an effective network of relationships across division
• Influence and collaborate effectively with project resources not in the same reporting line to achieve common goal
• Operate as a leader in cross functional forums and drive consensus on project, business, and functional issue

Qualifications:

Skills Required
• 10+ years process improvement, business analysis, project management, program management experience
• Understanding of various technology system implementation methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile etc.)
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and a creative and flexible approach to problem solving
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong communication and influencing skill
• Exceptional written and verbal presentation skill
• Capable of setting direction and motivating team members outside the direct reporting line
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolution
• Adaptability to fast changing demands and environment
• Strong time management skill
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Fluency with all MS Office tools, including Power Point, Teams, Excel, Project, Visio and SharePoint

Skills Desired
• Experience in the Wealth Management industry (ideally business / operational risk)
• Consulting experience for financial services industry client

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
