Job Title: Program Monitor – Maceo May/Treasure Island – Part Time Weekend Days
Location: 55 Cravath Street, San Francisco, CA 94130
Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Weekend Day Shift Program Monitor: Saturday-Sunday; 6:00am- 2:00pm
Pay / Wage: $21.71 per hour. This is a Part-Time, Non-Exempt position.
Summary
The Program Monitor is the gatekeeper to the various Swords to Plowshare residential sites. The Program Monitors monitor daily building activities, provide 24-hour security, enforces safety and security polices, and respond to building and tenant emergencies. As the first point of contact for visitors to our properties, Program Monitors are required to exhibit professional, courteous, and respectful conduct to tenants and building guests, enforcing property rules while creating a welcoming environment. This position will be supervised one of the Residential Operations management staff and will vary depending on site.
Responsibilities
~Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative and the principles of Cultural Humility.
- Monitor daily common area activities of building residents and guests
- Maintain complete and accurate building logs (visitor log, vendor log, overnight log, daily log)
- Maintain complete and accurate shift reports of activities, repairs, tenant requests, deliveries, and services
- Screens all visitors to the building
- Respond to building emergencies in compliance with the Property Management manual
- Engage in courteous and respectful communications with tenants, guest, and vendors
- Assist tenants with the completion of work orders, incident reports, and complaints
- Help facilitate veteran transportation to and from medical appointments
- Replenish and make copies of all necessary paperwork, work order, incident report, grievance
- Complete accurate daily shift report and incident reports prior to completion of shift
- Post flyers and social activity announcements on bulletin boards when needed
- Assist property management with social activities and community meetings; i.e. setting up kitchen
- Maintain a clean and presentable work area, building entry, and lobby including cleaning front desk, refrigerator, and microwave)
- Maintain 86 list and inform Property Management of any updates
- Monthly supervision with supervisor
- Attend monthly program monitor meetings
- Helps to distribute daily mail
- Assist Community Organizer to help facilitate veterans attending activities to include calling veterans to confirm attendance and coordinating with Community Organizer regarding number of veterans in attendance, etc.
- Follow all rules and procedures outlined in the Swords to Plowshares Personnel Policy Manual
- Must be able to perform all tasks as assigned my residential operations management with what would be considered reason accommodation. Please note that responsibilities may vary by site.
Requirements
Education: Associates Degree, High School diploma or GED considered with experience
Experience: Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted (preferable)
Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
- Applicants with de-escalation and conflict resolution training encouraged to apply
- An understanding of and experience working with issues of homelessness
- Present a relaxed, courteous and professional communication style even under pressure
- Organized with attention to detail
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Diversity Equality Initiative
Skills:
- Ability in coordinating social activities
- Has skills has experience in filing and dictation
- Able to recognize veterans dealing with medical crisis
- Ability to remain calm and responsible during emergencies
- An understanding of and ability to communicate with diverse types of people
- Ability to both work independently and be a part of a team.
- Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Applicants should have experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, etc.
- Ability to appropriately respond to and de-escalate tension
- Applicant needs to be able to work with inter office departments
- Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift
