Program Specialist, Data & Systems

Youth On Their Own (YOTO) supports the high school graduation and continued success of youth experiencing homelessness. OVERVIEW

The Program Specialist, Data and Systems provides support the daily operations of YOTO’s Data and Systems and Youth Services Team. This role assists in processing youth stipends and other youth Financial Assistance. This position’s main responsibility is to assist with attendance rate calculations, data entry, packaging and preparing items for youth deliveries, and covering staffing in the Mini Mall youth center when needed. This position requires high level of flexibility and proactive support of the Data & Systems team and Youth Services team. Strong candidates will have strong organization skills, pay careful attention to detail, and be committed to ensuring timely completion of duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

I. Data Entry & Services Coordination (75%)
• Supports the administrative process for the financial assistance payments to YOTO youth (accurate tracking of digital & check payments, submits payment requests, coordinates prepaid card receipt and delivery, etc.).
• Processes attendance records to determine amount of time youth were present in school and stipend amounts earned.
• Enters data into the youth database (YOTO Portal) including service requests, stipend payments, and other student-related information.
• Supports reconciling Ubers and Taxi’s with Finance.
• Supports Data and Systems Team in reporting, as needed.

II. Youth Services (20%)
• Supports Caring Courier Program by packaging financial requests and other requests when needed.
• Supports the Mini-Mall (youth pantry and drop-in center) by staffing and assisting youth and guests with services or information about the program when needed (covering lunches, absences, etc.).

III. YOTO Staff Participation (5%)
• Attends bi-weekly staff meetings, trainings and periodic retreats.
• Attends regular program department meetings.
• Completes other projects to support the Program team as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• 100% of work will be done on-site at the YOTO office.
• This position is 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday (9am-1pm).
• This position requires prolonged periods of computer use / screen time and intermittent physical activity including bending and reaching.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 2 years of experience using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Forms and Microsoft Excel. Able to export/import spreadsheets, clean up data, and tracking records.
• Ability to work with and maintain confidential files, records, and correspondence with understanding of timely and accurate maintenance of program data and statistics as necessary.
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to communicate and work in collaboration with numerous supporting constituents and as part of a team. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. Strong writing skills.
• Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Compassion and understanding of youth experiencing homelessness. Ability to perform duties with a trauma-informed care approach. Ability to communicate calmly and supportively with youth using non-judgmental language.
• Ability to pass a background check with no felony convictions connected to theft or embezzlement or any conviction related to child abuse or misconduct.
• Ability to receive Fingerprint Clearance Card.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaker preferred but not required.
• People with lived experience in youth homelessness are encouraged to apply.

New hires for this position start at an hourly rate of $16.86/hr.
