Project Accountant/Coordinator

A family-owned construction company with a long history is seeking a Project Accountant/Coordinator to process lien releases from subcontractors and vendors for their Orlando, FL location. As the Project Accountant/Coordinator, you will be working closely with Project/Office Manager to support multiple projects and ensure timely payments to subcontractors.

The company is looking for an individual with 3-5 years of experience in construction accounting with a strong understanding of Florida lien laws. Pay Range: $60,000 – $75,000 DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Process lien releases from subcontractors and vendors in compliance with Florida lien laws
  • Collect pay applications from subcontractors and coordinate with project managers
  • Assist with sending out subcontract agreements for project managers
  • Track owner direct purchases (ODP) for tax savings purposes
  • Generate compliance reports and provide support for assigned projects
  • Manage a high volume of billings, including up to 1,000 lien releases per month
  • Follow up with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of required documentation
  • Prioritize and organize tasks to meet tight deadlines
  • Utilize software systems such as Vista by Viewpoint (GC Pay) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction accounting and lien release processing
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel, including intermediate skills
  • Familiarity with Florida lien laws and construction accounting practices
  • Experience using Vista by Viewpoint (GC Pay) or similar software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with tight timelines
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
