Job Description
Responsible for monitoring project costs, schedule performance, project document controls, project processes, and performing related analyses to support the strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting of project completion for all Generation Production and Substation Support construction projects. Manages long-range project planning horizon to ensure processes, tools, budget, schedule, and resources are maximized.
- Develops and implements project controls and monitoring procedures to ensure achievement of project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Maintains a master list of all GPSS construction projects. Including maintaining and administering project controls tools for all GPSS construction projects. This consolidated system links individual projects to the department portfolio and provides accurate and timely data.
- Uses knowledge and experience in project controls to update project and portfolio plans on a continual basis, working with stakeholders to maintain accurate information.
- Coordinate with PM’s, engineers, managers, general foremen and key stakeholders to maintain current project status and forecast project future performance.
- Facilitates regular stakeholder meetings illustrating project risks and deviations, highlighting areas of elevating risk, providing accurate project updates and making recommended corrective actions.
- Reviews results compared to schedules, planned spend, and project management process adherence in order to identify deviations from expected results and identify possible action plans.
- Leads joint project prioritization efforts with GPSS and Energy Delivery groups.
- Develops and disseminates reports highlighting budget/actuals, risk, project metrics, schedule and resource loading
- May be required to assemble and lead a team of schedulers, document controls specialists, records specialists, and other similar core project controls support roles.
- Responsible for Administrator tasks associated with developing, maintaining, and supporting project controls systems and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline and up to five years of demonstrated experience in Project Controls. Proficient user of Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, Primavera Unifier, or equivalent project management software. Knowledge of project management principles, including standard guidelines. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, facilitation and communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks under strict deadlines and changing priorities. Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP), Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
