Day to Day Responsibilities:
Lead multiple cross-functional teams and vendors through the design, substantiation, and certification of Inflight systems and components onboard multiple commercial aircraft types.
Develop project plans including requirements, design deliverables, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations by adhering to defined processes, procedures, and applications.
Research lessons learned, best practices, risk assessments, and trends for new baseline plans.
Provide timely reports to management to ensure an understanding of project status and performance.
Keep programs on track by holding regular integrated project team (IPT) meetings to review and update project schedule status, budgets, risks and issues, actions, and resources.
Lead the efforts to ensure early problem identification and implementation of corrective action.
Support project proposal development and review plans to identify technical approach, timeframe, funding and resource requirements, and processes for accomplishment.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities across departmental teams.
Will be working in an aircraft hangar environment for approximately 2-4 weeks at a time.
Ensure all project plans and sites are kept up to date with respect to scope, deliverables progress and scheduling, budget status, and resource allocation by adhering to defined ATS playbook processes, procedures, and applications.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have Requirements:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Structural and/or Electrical Engineering.
At least 3+ years of experience in an engineering, aerospace/aviation, or certification-related industry.
Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings to Company and industry standards, including Drawing Practices per ASME Y14.100 and GD&T per ASME Y14.5
Prior Experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Demonstrable proficiency in MS Project and MS Office applications.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Nice to Have Requirements:
Ability to work with Smart Sheet, SharePoint, and Project Web Access (PWA) applications.
Commercial aircraft certification, structural, and/or electrical engineering experience.
Experience with Configuration Management (CM), preferably Agile.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®)
