We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative Project Engineer who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running not just on time but within budget. Based in our San Diego, CA office, reporting directly to the Project Manager for the overall delivery of new construction and renovation projects. You’ll be responsible for understanding and processing all project documents for appropriate level of review, approval, and distribution.
Essential Functions:
- Posting and coordinating RFI’s between site field personnel and project Architect/Engineering Consultants and Inspector of Record.
- Transmitting and coordination of material submittals and shop drawing.
- Review of project schedules updates.
- Position also assists with posting and obtaining bids for new projects. Will work closely with the Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer to oversee daily management, coordination, supervision, and successful completion of projects.
- Meets regularly with Project Manager/Project Superintendent and assists in the project construction, ensuring drawings, daily reports, submittals, RFI’s and schedules are maintained and up to date.
- Job site safety, interim life safety, and infection control issues relative to hospital construction and renovation projects.
- Coordinate project close-out documents to include Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Warranties, and As-Built drawings.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related discipline
- 3+ years of project related experience
- Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Experience with healthcare construction sites (OSHPD1, OSHPD3)

Typical salary range for this position is $73,600 – $115,000 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
