Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Project Environmental Engineer to join our Resilience Environment team in Melville, NY.

As a Project Environmental Engineer, you will collaborate with scientists, engineers, project managers, and technical experts on various activities in support of diverse environmental assessments and remediation projects. You will be involved in a mix of technical work, such as remediation system detailed design, operation and maintenance of systems, and project management tasks, such as coordinating fieldwork conducted out of other offices and managing project schedules and budgets.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will assist the development of environmental remedial systems and in-situ technology treatment designs and assessments, including detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and design calculations, and assist with the development of Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Designs; this includes the coordination of figure generation, data management, work plans, and/or other required supporting documents.

This role will require field work about 25% of the time. Field work responsibilities will include:
• Perform remedial system operation and maintenance (O&M), and monitoring. Assist in preparation of O&M reports.
• Prepare subcontracts and oversee the work of subcontractors.
• Coordinate field activities which may include contractor/vendor oversight for site characterization, soil sampling and/or groundwater/remediation well installation and construction, groundwater sampling, and excavation oversight.

We are looking for a leader who can provide mentoring and training junior engineers as well.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or closely related field
• 5 years of experience
• Engineer-In-Training certification or Professional Engineering license
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and appropriate annual refresher certifications

Preferred Qualifications:
• MS in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or closely related field
• Professional Engineering License

The salary range for this position is $103000 – $154500
