Job Description
CRDF Global seeks an experienced Project Lead to support implementation of counter-proliferation programming, specifically U.S. and Canadian governments’ efforts to use all available tools to exert pressure on the DPRK and Iran to curtail their proliferation of WMD and/or ballistic missiles and build foreign capacities to enforce relevant UN Security Council resolutions. The Project Lead will specifically focus on strengthening international partners’ capacity and defense against proliferation schemes via illicit maritime activities, abuse of diplomatic privilege, trade in prohibited luxury goods, and exploitation of overseas labor.
Under the supervision of the Program Manager and Senior Project, the Project Lead will use project management best practices to develop and execute the technical, financial, and administrative aspects of a portfolio of activities to ensure that they are administered and implemented in a manner consistent with CRDF Global and funder objectives. Activities may include meetings, workshops, trainings, conferences, grant-making, research competitions, or other activities, both in-person and virtual.
The ideal candidates should enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, have exceptional communication skills, strong project and financial management skills, attention to detail and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and the capability to meet tight deadlines. The Project Leads will work within the Security Assistance Division and coordinate this work by assigning tasks to Project Associates in close collaboration with their Mission Services colleagues, such as those in Grants/Procurement, Finance, and Travel/Logistics.
Major Responsibilities:
- Designs and executes projects using project management best practices that include development and use of statement of work, project charter, work breakdown structure, communication plan, monitoring and evaluation plan, and budget; prepares and submits reports and proposed modifications if necessary.
- Manages planning, implementation, and technical and financial reporting of projects to meet the stated agreement and project objectives.
- Actively participates in managing stakeholder relations and networking with funders.
- Develops concepts and new project ideas as part of the proposal development process.
- Travels to represent program or projects at external events, mostly internationally.
- Able to effectively work in a team environment and support other programs and staff, as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s preferred.
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a related field, such as counter proliferation or nonproliferation, international security, international relations, North Korea or Iran policy, multilateral organizations, sanctions compliance, maritime activities, diplomatic privilege abuse, luxury goods, or overseas labor.
- Demonstrated experience with project management best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated strong communication, diplomatic, and negotiating skills as well as sound judgment.
- Solid research and writing skills.
- Familiarity with other countries and cultures; demonstrated willingness to learn about other countries and cultures.
- Prior experience with in-person and remote trainings and education platforms a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and ability to work with more advanced software, such as Airtable, is preferred.
Salary & Benefits: The base pay range for this position is $56,000 to $70,000. The determination of salaries in this job classification depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant candidate experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills.
